Daphné Charotte is a PhD candidate at the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences at Maastricht University (Netherlands). Her research examines the conditions explaining military receptiveness to NGO advocacy on the protection of civilians (PoC) in conflict. Her research project focuses of four case studies: Belgium, France, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom, and is co-funded by the Gerda Henkel Foundation (Germany) and Maastricht University. Daphné obtained a Research Master in European Studies (cum laude) from Maastricht University in July 2022. Her research master thesis explored NATO burden-sharing, more specifically the relationship between NATO member states’ exposure to migration and their defense efforts.
