Le Nord stratégique (available in French only) is a premium French-language podcast hosted by Éric Sauvé, devoted to geopolitics, defence and contemporary security issues. It is aimed at an educated, professional and influential audience, while filling a significant gap in the Canadian francophone media landscape through credible analysis grounded in real operational experience.

Why now

Defence, security and geopolitical issues now occupy an unprecedented place in the news: the war in Ukraine, great-power competition, Arctic security, military artificial intelligence, the resilience of critical infrastructure and rapidly evolving threats. Yet few French-language platforms offer serious, in-depth analysis of these questions.

Host

Eric Sauvé is President of Innovigo Inc. and has over thirty years’ experience in the fields of defence, intelligence and security. A former officer in the Canadian Armed Forces, he served in the infantry, special operations and intelligence communities, notably during deployments to Bosnia and Herzegovina and Afghanistan. He has also collaborated with international partners, including the US Defence Intelligence Agency and other allied intelligence organisations. He holds a bachelor’s degree in history and a master’s degree in war studies. He teaches, advises public and private organisations, and regularly contributes to the media on issues relating to defence, geopolitics and national security. His career combines operational experience, strategic thinking and the ability to make complex issues accessible to a wide audience.
