“Le Yémen en guerre”

In this new episode, Sarah-Myriam talks with Thomas about his new book, “Le Yémen en guerre,” recently published by the University of Montreal Press. It explores the causes and consequences of the war that has raged in Yemen since 2015. In particular, he analyzes the internationalization of this war, or how outside powers have taken advantage of the weakness of the central state to make the country a theater for their confrontations. Thomas explains what this was initially about; a domestic conflict between the Houthist movement and the central government. But this conflict became internationalized in 2015, when Saudi Arabia and its partners intervened to counter the Houthists, who were themselves close to Iran.
