Antonin Blanchard is a master’s student in political science at the Université du Québec à Montréal. He is interested in international relations and global politics, with a specialization in security and defense studies. His research focuses in particular on the concept of neutrality, its various forms, and its application to the Ukrainian case. More broadly, he is interested in defense issues and models of conventional deterrence, with a particular focus on so-called “alternative” forms of defense.
In addition to his primary research, he has previously worked on Egypt’s foreign policy as well as the dynamics of its political system. His earlier work also includes an analysis of the strategic surprise surrounding the attack of October 7, 2023, as well as studies on Egypt’s foreign policy in Africa and in the context of the war in Ukraine. He is also a member of the editorial team at Rubicon.
