Dirk Druet is a Non-resident Senior Advisor at the International Peace Institute in New York and an Adjunct Professor at the Max Bell School of Public Policy. He is a researcher, policy adviser and former official in the international peace and security pillar of the United Nations, where he led initiatives on intelligence, technology and innovation, and conflict protection in multilateral peace operations and fragile states. Dirk advises a number of research and policy institutions and in 2023 served as the senior technical advisor to the national review of Kenya’s Peacebuilding Architecture. He has served with UN field operations and human rights organizations in eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo, Afghanistan and Rwanda, among others.
