Quebec and Canada’s Strategic Directions: Security & Diplomatic Challenges.

In the wake of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, which has many political, economic and military repercussions at both the national and international levels, the Institut d’études internationales de Montréal (IEIM) and the Network for Strategic Analysis (NSA) invite you to this event entitled “Quebec and Canada’s Strategic Directions: Security & Diplomatic Challenges”.

The event took place in the form of two panels, the first with a focus on North America and the second, from an international perspective.

This presentation is part of the third edition of the Rendez-vous Gérin-Lajoie. It brings together renowned and emerging academic experts, practitioners and diplomats. A number of topical questions on the challenges and strategies of Quebec and Canada will be addressed, in a context marked by a fractured international order and the return of competition between great powers.

Justin Massie, professor of political science at UQAM and co-director of the RAS, and Mélanie Marquis, parliamentary correspondent in Ottawa for La Presse, moderated the event.
