Nicolas-François Perron is a doctoral candidate and lecturer in political science at the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM), where his research focuses on decision-making in foreign and security policy, burden-sharing within NATO, and strategic culture. His dissertation examines the constraints on the emergence of strategic countercultures, based on a comparative analysis of Canada, Italy, and Germany. His recent research focuses in particular on Canadian defense policy in light of the war in Ukraine, alliance dynamics within NATO, and the evolution of the Canadian debate on military alliances since 1968.
