This section, intended for the students, aims to share a number of opportunities and resources offered by the NSA and our partners.

The Emerging Scholars Committee

  • The NSA has a Committee that oversees the Network’s professional development activities and their implementation. Committee members meet two to three times a year to discuss the Network’s student planning.
  • If you have any questions or suggestions for the Committee, please send an email to info@ras-nsa.ca with the subject line “Emerging Scholars Committee”.

Becoming a student member or an intern at the NSA

The NSA offers students the opportunity to become an emerging scholar or student collaborator. Membership criteria are available here.

  • Emerging Researcher
    • Graduate student or young professional
    • Supervised or sponsored by an NSA researcher or collaborator
    • Actively working on one of the NSA’s research themes
  • Student Contributor
    • Undergraduate student
    • Supervised by an NSA researcher
    • Interest in one of the NSA’s research themes

Student members of the NSA are encouraged to analyze issues in the field of security and defence through four types of bilingual publications (Hot Takes, Policy Briefs, Policy Reports and articles). To learn more about the publication process, please click here.
