Aubin Gonzalez Lapos is a lawyer, entrepreneur and professor, working at the crossroads of law, technological innovation and international relations. He holds an LL.M. from Berkeley Law (Global Reach merit scholarship) and degrees in international and comparative law from the universities of Toulouse, Antwerp and Utrecht. He is developing targeted expertise in corporate law, sports law and international legal governance, with a marked sensitivity to transatlantic strategic issues.
He is currently Executive Secretary General of France-Amériques, where he designs and pilots economic and cultural diplomacy projects aimed at strengthening partnerships between Europe and the Americas. Co-founder of Kayros, a legal platform based between Paris and San Francisco, he supports companies, institutions and NGOs through strategic consulting and regulatory anticipation mandates. He also acts as a mandated expert for the European Union and the Council of Europe, with over 24 audit assignments to his credit in sports governance, human rights and anti-discrimination (Erasmus++ program).
His career has been built up with leading international law firms, including Baker McKenzie, Reed Smith and Simmons & Simmons, where he specialized in mergers & acquisitions, private equity, energy law and international arbitration. At the same time, he pursues an independent consultancy practice in North Africa and Europe, via AUBIN Law Firm.
Committed to training the next generation of lawyers, he teaches political institutions at Sciences Po Paris (North America Campus) and supports students in their professional careers through mentoring programs. He also works internationally – in India, Pakistan, Ukraine and Brazil – on issues relating to law, technology, ethics and global governance.
President of the Institut Avenir et Innovation (France-Amériques) and founder of the Berkeley Global Society, an alumni network present in over 120 countries, he promotes intergenerational and intercultural dialogue on major contemporary issues. He has edited several major publications, including the Tech Book (2023) on global technology trends, and the Covid-19 Legal Overview white paper covering 36 jurisdictions.
Its commitment to inclusion and social justice is also expressed through the creation of the “Inspiring Women of the Year” award, presented annually since 2022, and its support for sustainable development initiatives integrating gender perspectives.
