Shuangsheng Zhao is a PhD candidate in Geographical Sciences at Laval University. He holds a Master’s degree in Geopolitics from Université Paris VIII. His doctoral thesis focuses on the geopolitics of the Pacific Island States in the context of great-power rivalries. His research examines the geopolitical dynamics of the Indo-Pacific, with particular emphasis on China’s influence, the strategies of Pacific Island States, and their positioning amid regional transformations.
