Alexandre Courtemanche is a master’s student in political science at the Université du Québec à Montréal under the supervision of Justin Massie. At the same university, he obtained his bachelor’s degree by completing the Honor’s program in the political science department, with a concentration in international relations, before continuing his studies at the graduate level. During this final, exclusive stage of his undergraduate studies, he developed an interest in issues linking international security to global warming. His thesis project focuses on the impact of climate change on Canada’s defence posture in the Arctic.
